Pre-Fab for the New Year!
Working with a lovely couple on their home, I developed a few conceptual images for their consideration for their kitchen. It is so important to remember to conceptualize a vision before moving forward on a design.
As an Interior Designer, I am called on to personalize home offices for my clients. My process beings by understanding the client’s needs and preferences for organization and colorization. One way I recommend creating an organized space is to make the office furniture, paper storage and shelving all white. This creates a modern, clean space for which to add to and allows for changes later in personal styles.
For example, my current client needs an organization ‘paradise’, so I designed all storage to be white, with paper trays and new desk. I created a custom floor-to-ceiling dry-erase white board for her to add her yearly calendar and be in full-view of her desk. Also, I made her space reflect her personality and be an ‘energizing’ work environment that inspires her throughout the work day. I selected a bold warm salmon wall color to offset against the white furniture and a pattered accent chair for long conference calls. It was also important for this client to add elements of feng shui to her space, so we added a ‘money tree’ to her ‘money corner’ and a gold desk lamp to’ draw energy’ to that spot.
This year, it has been my pleasure to volunteer for a cause as a means of giving back and sharing a bit of my time, Juvenile Diabetes. I have had a great time procuring auction items and working together with the JDRF staff and other volunteers. The Desert Southwest Chapter did Art Day to create “Thank You” gifts to this year’s attendees to their annual Gala, “One Night-Unmask a Cure” scheduled for February 8, 2014 at the JW Marriott-Desert Ridge.
